The reading series Poets' Corner has been a traditional part of the Poesiefestival bBerlin for twelve years. It was originally conceived by two poets living in Berlin: Björn Kuhligk and Jan Wagner. The declared aim is to bring the art form of poetry into public space and to promote exchange between the Berlin authors*. Not only the usual visitors* to readings are addressed, but also the citizens* living in the respective neighbourhood.

The 20th Poesiefestival Berlin will take place from 14 to 20 June 2019 under the motto "Finally time for language", organised by the Haus für Poesie in cooperation with the Akademie der Künste. It is the largest of its kind in Europe and brings around 150 renowned poets and artists from all over the world to Berlin every year. The festival brings poetry in all its forms to life and counts up to 13,000 visitors every year.

Die Lesereihe Poets’ Corner ist seit zwölf Jahren traditioneller Bestandteil des poesiefestival berlin. Sie geht ursprünglich auf die Idee zweier in Berlin lebender Dichter zurück: Björn Kuhligk und Jan Wagner. Das erklärte Ziel ist es, die Kunstform Dichtung in den öffentlichen Raum zu tragen und den Austausch zwischen den Berliner Autor*innen zu fördern. Dabei werden nicht nur die üblichen Besucher*innen von Lesungen angesprochen, sondern auch die im jeweiligen Kiez wohnenden Bürger*innen.

Das 20. poesiefestival berlin findet vom 14. bis 20. Juni 2019 unter dem Motto „Endlich Zeit für Sprache“ statt, veranstaltet vom Haus für Poesie in Kooperation mit der Akademie der Künste. Es ist das größte seiner Art in Europa und bringt jährlich rund 150 namhafte Dichter innen sowie Künstler innen aus aller Welt nach Berlin.
